I just had the most awesome fic idea ever for Devil Survivor.
The MC gets stuck in a time loop (ala Grim Grimmoire), continually reliving the seven (8) days (or maybe a few more days after the 7th) of the Tokyo Lockdown until he picks the 'right' path. He keeps all the knowledge of what happens whatever route he picks, and keeps all plot significant items and his demons.
I. I kind of want to write this. It's not a re-telling of plot events, because it opens up many different OTHER routes in which you can fuck things up. Knowing exactly what the Laplace mail is referring to messes things up more. What if the Laplace mail itself changes? What if you skip days because you know where everything is and what you have to do to end the Lockdown, even if the rest of your part doesn't? Just. picking the 'right' path will be difficult.
