1. Angst
It wasn't the stillness in his body that was the worst; it was the first and only time she had seen his eyes closed.

2. AU [theskytides]
They met at a hospital for the same reason -- someone close -- and they stood beside each other and never said a word that left the recesses of their mind.

3. Crack!fic
"You require a Nice Hat to be a detective," Naoto told him one day, and L thought for a moment, looking at his reflection containing his bare head, before he allowed Naoto to buy him a Very Nice Hat.

4. Crossover [Robot Unicorn Attack (http://games.adultswim.com/robot-unicorn-attack-twitchy-online-game.html)]
Theoretically, unicorns shouldn't exist, but a unicorn -- a rainbow robot unicorn, no less! -- was their only (outlandish!) mode of transport through this world of purple plateaus, and as she held on to her hat, Naoto wondered how L accepted it so easily.

5. First Time
They never used the discussion table again after that, even though it was the discussion -- appropriate, detective discussion -- that sparked the whole mess in the first place.

6. Fluff
Naoto was unexplainably pleased at the results of her meticulous attention to detail; the chocolates she had painstakingly made were lazily devoured, accompanied with a request she make more.

7. Humour
"And what do you suggest we do about this?" Naoto held up her handcuffed wrist and jangled the attached chain to reiterate her point -- they were cuffed together until someone brought the key -- and he sat down in front of his tea, adding sugar cube after sugar cube before he replied, "Wait."

8. Hurt/Comfort
L didn't know how to offer comfort in the usual ways -- words of sympathy, hugs -- and just placed the list of suspects and their photos and asked Naoto what she thought.

9. Smut
The metal around his wrist, he noted, was warm, but nothing compared to the smaller body on top of him.

10. UST
It was the cautious respect that allowed them to work well as a team, but it was also the respect that kept them an appropriate distance apart.
