End of year meme!

sinnatious! Mine's going to be pretty boring since some stuff simply doesn't apply to me ahaha.
1. What did you do in 2011 that you'd never done before?
Knock a can of air freshener from a shelf while shutting the cupboard door only to have it land perfectly upright on the toilet paper. Twice. MORE SERIOUSLY I managed to stick to a regular exercise schedule until mum broke it when she sprayed some stuff outside that made breathing painful.
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I didn't make a new years' resolution (at least, not one that I can remember) but my resolution for next year is to stop swearing (I really have to, if I want to become a teacher!) and to get more exercise into my life!
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
IF THEY DID THEY DIDN'T TELL ME. So no.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Nope. Hopefully it stays that way.
5. What countries did you visit?
Malaysia and Singapore! Which has reminded me that I still haven't put up my Singapore photos UH. I'LL... EVENTUALLY GET ON THAT...... I'm not a fan of Malaysia, but at least this is the first visit that hasn't resulted in some kind of health related accident with me. I really enjoyed my time in Singapore and got to meet a couple of net friends (KB and Kae!) in person for the first time! While mum and I didn't exactly do much there, it was definitely very relaxing to not be rushing around while we were on vacation.
6. What would you like to have in 2012 that you lacked in 2011?
Focus. 2011 (as well as previous years) was a year of me being incredibly scatterbrained and unmotivated. I'm going to be picking meditation back up again, now that the reasons I couldn't continue practising are no longer applicable.
7. What date from 2011 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
I'm not very good with dates since my perception of time tends to be relative um. I think when I started Ask Joshu4, because it feels really good to art regularly (though I've schedule slipped to intermittent while I'm playing video games whoops) and I like getting feedback that gives me a distinct vibe that people really enjoy what I put up!
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Actually breaking some of my social awkward and actually making phone calls and face to face conversation with people, and breaking my inherent shyness to ask for help. It sounds pretty minor but verbal talking with strangers is really hard for me!
9. What was your biggest failure?
Just not being able to realise I was having some major personal issues in the latter half of the year, which resulted in me shirking my responsibilities and piling more work on the other team members for our uni software project. Not one of my proudest moments, for sure.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Nothing outside of my regular illnesses, but I admit they've gotten significantly better this year. Well there was the one time my brother visited and I was so sick and had to finish off a coding assignment that I barely spent any time with him.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
Digital Devil Saga 1 and 2. NO REGRETS. (My PSP and Dissidia comes a close second.)
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
I... don't know...... ;;
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Less depressed and more disappointed, but a good portion of the TWEWY fandom's reaction to KH3D on tumblr. In summary, certain people are being very hipster about TWEWY, and a lot more are basically saying that the KH fandom coming to the TWEWY fandom will make it ruined forever. I just think it's a really strange stance to be taking, considering TWEWY's core message.
14. Where did most of your money go?
FOOD FOOD FOOD. Though I've definitely cut down on the amount I spend eating out this year, that money kind of went to the few video games and consoles I bought oops.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
TWEWY IN KINGDOM HEARTS 3D. THEATRHYTHM. TALES OF INNOCENCE. DIGITAL DEVIL SAGA. CAKE. VISITING FRIENDS. GETTING A NEW RP AND TAGS. TASTY FOOD. Wow I'm so easy to please.
16. What song will always remind you of 2011?
I DON'T KNOW.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
Happier or sadder - About the same.
Older or wiser – I don't feel older. But I don't really feel wiser either.
Thinner or fatter – I think about the same but I really should check...
Richer or poorer? – About the same.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Writing, that's for sure. But I'm not too hung up over that, since I poured a lot of time into my art. Also, my studies and doing things beneficial for my future/health.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Slacking off. Generally shirking responsibilities.
20. How will you be spending Christmas?
Whoops I guess this is a bit late. I spent it with a friend whose family was overseas. Mum made a delicious vegetarian lunch and the two of us chilled and made some beautiful papercraft presents to go on my tree. I'd never done any papercraft before so I found it a lot of fun! Artist I may be, I'm terrible at making things. My friend also totally jinxed my battle against the Demi-Fiend but I guess that's okay because apparently people like watching me suffer in video games.
21. Did you fall in love in 2011?
I have zero interest in romance so I guess it's no surprise that I didn't. Well, unless you count the various musicradio_aspen keeps linking me, which changes the answer to Yes. Every month.
22. How many one-night stands?
Nope.
23. What was your favorite TV program?
I DON'T WATCH TV.
24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
I HATE NO ONE.
25. What was the best book you read?
...It occurs to me that I don't think I actually read an entire book this year. Or for the past few years...... I'm pretty sure I'll be rectifying that next year.
26. What was your greatest musical discovery?
I. LOVE. ELECTRIC. GUITARS. And there is only one man to blame for this and his name is Shoji Meguro.
27. What did you want and get?
Digital Devil Saga 1 and 2. I mean I got a lot of other stuff that I wanted, either as gifts or I bought it myself or life got me stuff I didn't even know I wanted! But DDS is the one that stands out because I have wanted these games for four years.

A job, but that's me being lazy.
29. What was your favorite film of this year?
Oh man. I know I've watched a few movies this year but I can't remember if I watched them this year or earlier... Well, the Adventures of Tin Tin was surprisingly good! It was a lot of fun and I felt it generally kept with the overall feel the comics had, even if it started a bit slow.
30. What was your least favorite film of this year?
I DON'T WATCH BAD MOVIES.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I... you know, I'm not even sure what I did. I'm pretty sure I spent it like any other day. I turned 21! Which is supposed to be a milestone age where you party hard and get smashed but a bunch of my friends still had exams and I'm not a party animal in the first place so!
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Not forgetting to close the two layers of blinds on my window. Then I wouldn't keep getting woken up at 6am from the bright light of the sun and getting a headache for 2 hours. Yeah.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2011?
Mostly the same casual stuff. Shirt and pants. Though the end of 2011 saw me wearing long skirts because it's way too hot for pants sometimes.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
I don't pay attention to politics, but I've been reading a fair amount on gender/queer issues. I may not empathise with many of the things, but I can sympathise, and the least I can do is not accidentally be an ass to people.
37. Who did you miss?
I don't feel like I missed anyone, because I still talk to people on a regular/semi-regular basis. I do feel like I've grown apart from some of my net friends, though, but I think that's mostly a consequence of having differing interests and being on different spheres of the internet, now.

vatheon! One of my friend's long time boyfriend (now fiancée!), though this is less 'best person I met' and more 'best person who's come into the life of a friend'.
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2011:
The food we eat and the times we sleep has such a massive impact on how good we feel it's kind of ridiculous. I definitely feel a lot more alert since mum's changed our diet, I've taken out cold things, and changed my sleeping schedule to sleep before midnight and wake up at 7am or earlier.

If there's one thing we've learned from all this, it's that Ten apparently goes through life in a daze. That's something I need to work on this coming year, I think.
