I keep meaning to do all sorts of posts on LJ, usually after I finish a game (Birth By Sleep) or anime (Deadman Wonderland, Digimon Tamers, ragequitting Digimon Frontier) or something, but I haven't quite had the time to sit down and do a long semi-coherent post in a while. So I've mostly been doing scattered thoughts across plurk.

asdf;lkj trying to go back and find all instances where I accidentally went over the 80 character width limit on the TWEWY game script is ridiculous, especially since it has over 20k lines. I'm resorting to getting a code quality tool to find the line(s) that are just 81 characters wide because doing it manually is the biggest piece of crap! I don't get why GameFAQs accepted the versions 2 years ago where I didn't even bother with the character width, and then reject this version that goes over it a little bit. I thought that maybe they had some kind of word wrapping but APPARENTLY NOT :|a

(An annoying 30 minutes later, I find out that RSM isn't going to help me, because it keeps detecting lines being over 80 characters wide, and when I go to look at the line in question, my IDE says it's within 80 characters so I have no idea bluhhh GameFAQs why do you do this)

Maintaining Ask Joshu4 (yeah I changed the name from Ask Yoshiya) pretty much eats up all my art time. While it is a lot of fun, yeah, I don't really get much time to do other art. Well... I suppose I'd have some more time if I didn't insist on doing an update a day. But the main reason it's update a day is because that's the slowest I can set tumblr's queuing system to.

This image describes me perfectly. This list of creative works is growing D: I just finished one from this list, but within one day, I replaced it with 2 more WIPs. Sob. I'm going to have to prune this list at some point. (wait no I am pruning it now)

And... |||OTL I keep getting people either 1) telling me they're looking forward to a story update or 2) Story Alerting........................ when the story in question is a one-shot. I'm not quite sure what prompts these, when I mark all FFnet one-shots as complete and AO3 as not having multiple chapters * A*aaa I feel a little bad about it. It's also a little bit awkward when someone interprets the things I write as shipping when... almost everything I have written for fandom (RP is an entirely different matter) in the last 2.5? years has been written as gen. I don't really mind, because people are free to interpret what I do however they want, but it's a really weird feeling nevertheless.

Edit: also seriously how are people I do not know stumbling across my LJ. I want to know how they are finding me * A*

You are still doing Ask Joshu4? Colour me impressed, that is dedication.

AHAHAHA, oh flamingo, you speak to me. o__o

FFnet people sometimes... idk, I guess they don't read the summaries? Or they're that optimistic that you'll change your mind and keep going? I actually turned off the alert notifications on FFnet because there was too much facepalming involved.

Yep! It's helped me learn how to draw faster, so it's pretty easy to keep up with... until I decide to draw crowd scenes. Basically I draw them in batches. Tumblr's got a queuing system, so I set it to automatically upload a post a day.

There's also this fanfiction flamingo

I was talking to a friend about this, and there have been a few times where people have changed their minds about a one shot thanks to reader feedback (which happened to one of my favourited TWEWY stories). But also some people may be using story alerts as another way of keeping track of a story in a lesser way to favourites. Like, they feel the story is good, just not good enough for their favourites list, which is fair enough, I guess.
