Hi new people from TST * A* These kind of blah blah blah posts are pretty normal for me, so if that's not your cup of tea, that's cool 8) If it is, enjoy your stay ♥
But anyway, anyone here know of any Akihiko's with a strong 'voice'? Can be goodfic or RP journals. While good voice usually comes with good characterisation, I'm mainly looking for voice here. I've already briefly flipped through Discedo's one (
mean_left_hook), and know of both CFUD Aki's journals (
fistfirst and
gloveslapped), though I haven't seen the latter's threads (and god CFUD is a nightmare to wade through with my internet).
Small 'how I think Akihiko relates to other people' braindump. P3 spoilers and incoherency inside.

Okay from what I've seen so far with Akihomo is that he has a tendency to categorise people. I mean, that train of thought is pretty normal for people, because obviously the way you talk to friends is going to be different from the way you talk to strangers, and the way you talk to people you dislike etc.
But Akihiko seems to take this thought process a little step further. He categorises everyone. I guess you could say that he puts people in little boxes with the appropriate category written on them. With most people (or, at least me), categories are a little like... Venn diagrams, where some people can belong in more than one category. But Akihiko doesn't seem to be able to have that, see: box analogy.
Actually, no. That's not right. It's more a case of Akihiko's relationships with people being mostly static, and then suddenly it changes. Kind of like as if he moved a person from one box to another; there's less of a gradual transition that usually occurs with other people. The biggest demonstration of this is Ken, where Akihiko initially thought of him as a kid (yeah, a kid that can fight, but still a kid nevertheless. A kid who's meant to be protected, a kid who shouldn't have to fight). But after Shinjiro's death, Akihiko doesn't view Ken as a kid anymore, but aman member of SEES.
Granted, the situations shown in canon are... limited. But I sort of think that's how it is. For Aki, the gradual transitions that happen for everyone else are far less obvious for Aki. It's more... they're happening below the surface, with no evidence they're actually there, but it takes some sort of catalyst to bring out these changes. So it kind of feels like Akihiko undergoes dramatic relationship developments, rather than gradual ones.
On that note, it's kind of interesting that Aki even thinks Ken needs to be protected, given his whole TRAINING!! MUST GET STRONGER!11! outlook on life (pre-Shinji). Because normally I'd think that characters who have that kind of mindset sort of spit upon the weaker. But then you look at Aki's reason for it, it kind of makes sense. That he understands that not everyone can be 'strong' (what does it mean to be strong to Aki? I think pre-Shinji, that was just physical strength. While yes, he acknowledges SEES needs a Support, I don't think he thought of Fuuka as strong. Though she wasn't really 'strong' at the beginning) and that's why he's there to save them.
... I think I've been cutting up too many boxes at work.

The character seems to be on point, I guess.
I am just curious to see you play as him! You finally have a third character now.

So I can understand why the Persona characters may be getting a lot of tags because of their canon (but I don't know how many tags they're getting so...). And while it may be a little unfair to others because of it, it's not something I'd be bothered about, because actually getting CR (and popularity) to stick is another thing.
I don't know about characterisation wise, because I skimmed the first three entries in his journal, but voice-wise, I don't think the Akihiko there is strong. Just... the way things are being said, the manner of phrasing etc. it doesn't 'sound' like Akihiko.
Ahaha well, hopefully I'll do alright! I haven't taken him for many test runs yet, so I'm still figuring things out. I have a tendency to get things pretty badly wrong in the first 1-2 months ahahaha |D You mean my 2nd third character, right? XD Although Ika-chan really wasn't around long enough to be considered my third fffff
This is the only P3 icon I have
Akihiko seems had an obsession with the past, I've noticed. Obviously, with the fire and his sister's death, but also with Ken and Shinjiro. He identifies with Koromaru's need to honor his dead master, which is why he was so desperate to help him. For months, he kept bothering Shinjiro, looking for that "old" Shinjiro Aragaki who would traverse the Dark Hour with him and Mitsuru, eliminating shadows and looking for answers. If I'm remembering correctly, when Akihiko tells Shinjiro to let go of the past, Shinji calls him a hypocrite, showing that Aki himself had as much attachment to the past as Shinjiro did. He used Ken as a means to convince Shinjiro to rejoin SEES. He was the one to first realize what significance October 4th meant to the two of them.
That's all I can think of for Akihiko right now. ~_~ I'm sure I'd have more but ugh, stomach ache.
... fffffffffffffffffffff the art the icon comes from
