I don't usually do these because fff not many fandoms but hey. Ganked from

Ten Favourite Characters:
Man, do I even have that many? By favourite characters, I mean characters that really engage me and get me thinking about them. Not characters I just enjoy, because that would be too many
01. Yoshiya "Joshua" Kiryuu [TWEWY] - Joshua's a favourite in the sense that I can't agree with his way of thinking, but I can empathise with him. It's both great and frustrating that we know so little about him, and I guess what I really liked about him in canon is that he's a part of everything... but not a part of everything at the same time. You could say Joshua hits a lot of ideas-Ten-falls-in-love-with ping, because you can do so much with him, but at the same time, not have him move very far from where you started.
02. Bidoof [Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 2] - Yes, I am basically listing off my current RP characters. Bidoof is so fail and so adorable, but even though people don't expect very much from him (and Bidoof may be dense, but at least he knows he's dense) he still tries his hardest. I like the talking beaver ; A; I just wish I loved his canon.
03. Lucas [Mother 3] - D'awww tiny shota ; A; I love him because he's such a woobie and I just want to protect him forever ; A; He starts off as this tiny crybaby and then grows up to be GAR (this description may or may not be accurate). But honestly, I'm not exactly sure why I like Lucas so much. I'll probably have to replay to figure it out.
04. Claus [Mother 3] - D'awww other tiny shota ; A; There were a lot of little things that made me start liking Claus, but they weren't things he directly did. More, they were things implied by the Pigmasks. But this all eventually built up to the ending. And that. Was just pure bawww. Claus' script there was just beautiful.
05. Minato Arisato [Persona 3] - There's a lot about Minato I really like. Not only does he (and the concept of the P3 world) hit a lot of my aesthetic pings, but his whole character is something I can both empathise with and fall in love with the idea that he is a blank slate. Just, lots of ideas I like about Minato, about how he's a part of everything while still managing to keep his distance. And it actually feels like this ideas are being brought to light in P3.
06. ... maybe I'm just being too picky.
Five Favourite Pairings (Canon or crack, romantic or not, doesn't matter):
Most of these will be in the unromantic sense, since lol self :| /can't ship things. ever.
01. Ness/Joshua/(Minato??) [
theskytides] - I really enjoy how things are with the current Ness/Joshua! It's a dysfunctional relationship, there's no denying that (and let's face it, I love my dysfunctional relationships. I just don't want to have one). But I think that it has a lot of things I really enjoy about it. 1) It doesn't feel static. I recall someone mentioning that it's an angsty relationship? Yes, it has angst (of course it will), but it's not JUST angst. It hits different buttons, and sometimes things to well... and sometimes not-so-well. 2) It's not just about the relationship. Yes, the relationship is obviously going to affect how the characters interact with other characters, but they are still characters in a relationship, not a relationship with characters. 3) We're just letting the good times roll ♥
It'd be interesting to see how a Minato would work added in, because I think it'd work conceptually and I kind of enjoy the idea of having someone who can stabilize things. Whether or not it happens in canon, though, is another matter and either way doesn't bother me.
02. Mitsuru/Akihiko [Persona 3] - In a completely platonic way, though. I really like the interaction they get, and I feel they consider each other as professional equals, which isn't the case for how they (and the other characters) regard other characters. I feel there's a lot of unsaid understanding between them, and a lot of common ground they have, both being kind of fail at communicating and both consider acedemics important. It kind of amuses me that both senpais seem to be regarded as whoah awesome by the juniors. And I can agree, because there IS this bond they have from knowing each other for 2 years and working closely together for the time.
But it kind of makes me lol that Akihiko is kind of DDD: about Mitsuru as well fff weak against Bufu skills.
Fngh I'll cover this in more detail in a little ramble about P3 and Character Dynamics.
03. Minato/Yukari/Junpei [Persona 3] - Also in a completely unromantic way. I lovingly refer to these three as 'the three stooges' and really, there's a lot of Minato Yukari Junpei (and derivivatives therof) interaction. I'll also cover this in the P3 ramble.
04. Lucas/Claus [Mother 3] - Also in a comletely unromantic way. I don't get to see a lot of twin dynamics, and well... as with relationships, there's always the danger that it's going to be about them being TWINS rather than them being the characters they are. Mother 3 manages a good balance, and really, I just loved the way things were handled in the game. I seriously keep on failing to find the right words for anything related to Mother 3 )':
05. Shiki/Neku/bonus!Joshua [TWEWY] - I can only pair Shiki/Neku romantically, but I do prefer the whole lot as unromantic. Similar to the above three stooges of 03. Only it's Neku who is the 'stable'/converging point of this group. You could say Neku's the one who's straddling the line between the 'normal' life (Shiki) and the UG life (Joshua). Well, it's a group dynamic I hope to explore more in the future.
Three Favorite Manga:
Only not necessarily my favourites, because gosh I didn't read much manga
01. Persona 3 - Shush. This is mostly because when you read the manga and play the game, Persona 3 becomes so much better. They both kind of... complement each other. Where one lacks, usually the other provides.
02. Air Gear - It's got techno rollerblades. That's good enough incentive for me.
03. One Piece - It's One Piece. I do desperately need to catch up on it but fngh One Piece is ♥
Three Favourite Anime:
For the sole reason these were the only 3 anime on my HD right now
01. Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
02. Dennou Coil
03. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
First Fandom of 2008: I would say Phoenix Wright, but I didn't delve into that fandom. Twewy.
Favorite Main Character of 2008: Minato Arisato [Persona 3]
Favorite Villain of 2008: I got nothing.
Favorite Video Game Character of 2008: That Gay Jesus (disclaimer: This may not actually be true)
Favorite Game of 2008: TWEWY without a doubt. Basically took everything I disliked about RPGs and got rid of them, so that all the AWESOME stuff is left for my enjoyment.
Favorite Het Couple of 2008: Shiki/Neku :|b Because face it, she'd top.
Favorite GL Couple of 2008: )':
Favorite BL Couple of 2008: WELL THERE'S ONLY ONE ROMANTIC PAIRING LISTED UNDER THE FAVOURITE PAIRINGS LIST.
Fandom That You Never Expected To Get Into: I don't really get into fandom :| It's a place that doesn't suit me, because fandom's interests are mostly tangential to my own.
Fandom That Made An Unexpected Comeback: What fandom 8|
Fandom That Inspired The Most Crack: ... I'm not sure which one wins more. Ace Attorney or Metal Gear Solid. Despite me being in neither, I get shown a lot of things.
Last Fandom of 2008: I do drop into the TWEWY fandom frequently, though I don't browse through it in any depth :|
Overall Favourite Fandoms of 2008: TWEWY. At least, the TWEWY fandom when it was awesome ):
Predictions for 2009: Get out
