[DQ8] Dragovian Trials

somewhat all over the place since I lazy

Dragovian Sanctuary Script

Yangus: I s'pose it'll take people a while to get back to normal, even wiv the Dragovian Lord bloke back to 'is 'uman form.
Yangus: Still, little by little, eh? They'll get back on their feet eventually.

Jessica: What a story! So the boy who waas expelled from the village grew up to return and save it. Talk about poetic justice!
Jessica: Now I finally understand what the Lord of Dragovians was getting at before. That was his whole point.

Angelo: Even with everything that's happened, I doubt that humans and Dragovians will suddenly become the best of friends.
Angelo: After all these years of mistrust and isolation, it'll take a while to understand each other and bridge the gap.
Angelo: Maybe I should start the ball rolling and get acquainted with a nice Dragovian girl... Angelo, the Ambassador of Love, at your service!
Angelo: This is how we humans do things down below...

ONE OFF CONVERSATIONS
Angelo: Let me get this straight. We're just going through these trials because the Lord of the Dragovians asked us to, correct?
Angelo: Well, trials aren't really my thing, you know. But if I know you, you'll be planning on having another crack at them. Please tell me I'm wrong.
Angelo: Aaah, the things I do for you! All right, I'll play along! I suppose it's sort of like a game...

HEAVENLY DIAS F1
Jessica: After we saved the Dragovians, I didn't really think much one way or the other about the Dragovian Trials.
Jessica: But when the Lord of the Dragovians challenged us to try it, I thought, okay, let's give it a shot!
Jessica: I've always loved a challenge.

Angelo: The Lord of the Dragovians mentioned some sort of trial. If there's one thing I hate in this life, it's a trial.
Angelo: I mean, what kind of masochistic lunatic would come all the way up here to endure a gruelling, not to mention tedious, challenge!?
Angelo: ...Oh, no! You would, wouldn't you!? You've got that look in your eye!

Yangus: That Lord o' the Dragonvians is a tough nut! He gave us a right run for our money.
Yangus: I dunno about takin' 'im on again. I ain't so sure we can beat 'im.

TOP OF THE HEAVENLY DIAS
Yangus: The Lord o' the Dragovians should go back down to the Dragovian Sanctuary an' be with all 'is chums- I mean, er... dragon-people-things.
Yangus: S'pose 'e must be feelin' a bit bad, though. Must be 'ard to look 'em all in the eye, eh?

Jessica: You know, this place looks absolutely enormous when the Lord of the Dragovians is in his human form.
Jessica: I know that the Heavenly Dias is intended for special rituals, but I wonder what its history is?

Angelo: Remind me again why we have to bother with these ridiculous Dragovian Trials. I really don't see the point.

Lord of the Dragovians: Welcome back. I suppose your presence here means you wish to undertake the Dragovian Trial?

> Yes.
(Conversation continues.)

> No.
Lord of the Dragovians: Indeed? Then stand down. This holy dias is intended only for those who seek a Trial.

(Conversation ends.)

Lord of the Dragovians: Very well. Brave warriors! Defeat me and prove your true quality!

> The party's HP and MP are fully restored!

[Defeat the Lord of the Dragovians.]

Lord of the Dragovians: Well done. You fought with the valour I would expect of the warriors who saved the Dragovian race.
Lord of the Dragovians: You deserve a reward for your efforts. Choose something and it shall be yours.

[Upon defeating the final dragon.]
Lord of the Dragovians: You deserve a reward for your efforts. Few are left, but choose whichever you desire.

[CHOICES GO HERE.]

Lord of the Dragovians: That is what you desire? Are you certain?

> Yes.
(Conversation continues.)

> No.
Lord of the Dragovians: Then choose again.

(Previous line repeats.)

Lord of the Dragovians: Very well. You shall have it!

[If you choose to get the monster.]
Lord of the Dragovians: Proceed straight ahead from the cursed castle to a beautiful natural spring. On its banks you will find a monster.
Lord of the Dragovians: Defeat it. I am sure you will find it a worthy addition to your team.

[The Lord of the Dragovians gives you the item you chose.]

Lord of the Dragovians: You shall have that which you desire. But further Dragovian Trials await.
Lord of the Dragovians: If you would like to test your might with another Trial, return to the Dragovian Sanctuary and seek me out.
Lord of the Dragovians: When you do, be prepared to feel the full power of the Lord of the Dragovians.

[If you defeated all 7 trials.]
Lord of the Dragovians: You have completed the final Dragovian Trial. You fought well, courageous warriors.
Lord of the Dragovians: I acknowledge your quality and valour. You are truly worthy of the title: 'heroes'.
Lord of the Dragovians: You stand alone; none can hope to challenge your abilities. Not even the Lord of Darkness, Rhapthorne himself.
Lord of the Dragovians: Perhaps the time has come for you to return to the world of humans and fulfil your destinies.

Lord of the Dragovians: Very well. I shall transport you back to the Sanctuary.

[After defeating the Lord of the Dragovians.]
Angelo: Now we've defeated the Lord of the Dragovians, he and I can get down to the important business of determining which of us is the most debonair.
Angelo: Now then, what sort of contest can we have to settle it?
Angelo: Hmm... This isn't going to be easy...

Jessica: So he's going to wait here for us to come and challenge him?
Jessica: The Lord of the Dragovians may look like a pushover, but he certainly loves fighting!
Jessica: I can understand why, though. He's so strong, he's never met an opponent who could give him a real challenge.

Lord of the Dragovians: Welcome back, [leading character]. I suppose you are visiting me to test your strength again?

> Yes.
(Conversation continues.)

> No.
Lord of the Dragovians: Ah. So you see no reason to face me now that you have completed all of the Dragovian Trials. That is a shame.
Lord of the Dragovians: It takes cunning and powerful opponents such as yourselves to bring out my best, and I had only just begun.

(Conversation ends.)

Lord of the Dragovians: Very well, Eight. Prepare to taste the full power of the Lord of the Dragovians!

[Upon defeating the gauntlet that includes the ultimate dragon.]
Lord of the Dragovians: I... am impressed... Never before has anyone overcome the full power of the Lord of the Dragovians...
Lord of the Dragovians: I am almost afraid to wonder at the true extend of your powers.
Lord of the Dragovians: I have nothing more to give you. But you are welcome to visit me whenever you wish to test your strength.
Lord of the Dragovians: It has been a great pleasure putting your strength to the test. I look forward to your next visit.
Lord of the Dragovians: Very well. I shall transport you back to the Sanctuary.
