Nicaea's Master

[Minato - Shiba Park] [18:00]
A familiar man is looking at you...

Anguished One: ...Ah, it's you. We meet again, Shining One.

> You!
Anguished One: ...That's quite a greeting. I don't recall treating you as a foe.

> Oh, it's you.
Anguished One: Yes, it is me. I wanted to see you.

Yamato Hotsuin continues to pull your strings... You're going to defeat Megrez, no?

> That's right.
Anguished One: A noble cause... Listen. You mustn't let yourself succumb to something like this.

> I don't know.
Anguished One: ...I wish you could be a bit more open around me. I'll tell you now, I am not your enemy.

Anguished One: Megrez seems to have sensed your response and has begun rising to the surface.
Anguished One: Its arrival is a serious threat to you... but also a great chance at victory.

> Who are you?
Anguished One: Haven't I told you already...? I am the Anguished One. I seek to know what mindset you will arrive at.

> Help us.
Anguished One: Hm? Me... help you?
Anguished One: ...An interesting idea. Let me think on it.

Anguished One: The tragedy that befell you was sudden. Even I was upset that it happened...
Anguished One: That is why I followed my own path and gave you the power to fight.

> The summoning app?
> Nicaea?

Anguished One: Indeed... I created Nicaea to grant a chance at awareness of your fated deaths...
Anguished One: And I gave you the summoning app as a means to evade them.
Anguished One: But then... the possibilities they awakened within you far exceeded my expectations.
Anguished One: I hadn't expected that the power I gave you would allow you to defeat even them...

> The Septent-whatsits?
Anguished One: The Septentriones, yes. That is correct.

> Like Dubhe?
Anguished One: Yes... Not only Dubhe, but Merak and Phecda as well.

Anguished One: In truth, I'm at a loss. They are swords of the absolute, for man to defeat them is...

> You didn't consider it?
Anguished One: Is it so surprising? That very sentiment proves that you come from a position of freedom.

> Should've thought of that.
Anguished One: Haha... True. This must be natural for you all.
Anguished One: But that very sentiment proves that you come from a position of freedom.

Anguished One: I, though... I know that the Septentriones are but tools of a greater will.

> What do you mean?
> There's something worse?

Anguished One: That will be all, Man. Walk the path in which you believe. I will be watching over you.

The man disappears. Who or what could he be...?

Interrogation

[Shinsekai- Osaka Main Branch] [18:00]
You find Yamato in a hallway behind the clock...

Yamato: There you are, Hiro. I'm sorry to have made you seek me out.

> What about Megrez?
Yamato: The countermeasure isn't ready yet, but it won't be long. Now, let's talk...

> What did you want?
Yamato: Yes, about that...

Yamato: I don't like to beat around the bush, so I'll just ask: What did that man tell you?

> What man?
Yamato: That man who gave you information about Megrez in Tokyo.

> That weird guy?
Yamato: I... don't know if he's weird, but I mean the one [who] told you about Megrez in Tokyo.

Yamato: Why did he appear to you...?

> How should I know?
> I wonder that myself.

Yamato: I see... So you can't think of any reason why.
Yamato: Then would you mind telling me a little about him?

You answer Yamato's questions about the man you encountered in Tokyo...

Yamato: I see... Well, then. There's probably no mistake.

> About what?
> Do you know him?

Yamato: Hmhm... Don't worry about it. You'll find out eventually.
Yamato: If he's who I think he is, you'll see him again. But don't let your guard down...
Yamato: His powers are tremendous. If you put your trust in him, he'll lure you in.

> All right.
Yamato: ...Very well. There's nothing more you need to know at this point.

> Who is he?
Yamato: If that was important, don't you think I would have told you? Better not to know now.

Yamato: ...To be honest, I have a high opinion of you all.
Yamato: To think civilians would give rise to people capable of fighting Septentriones...
Yamato: Especially you. I've seen how you have a knack for drawing out your friends' strengths.
Yamato: You're an intriguing one... Maybe even dangerous.

> That's rather rude.
Yamato: Hah... Consider it a compliment. I've no issue with you, after all.

> Is that a compliment?
Yamato: Haha... Yes, it is. You have my admiration, after all.

Yamato: I'm interested to see how much you can achieve... Well then.

Yamato leaves...
