"You wanna chat with me? Tough break-- I'm married. Go flirt with someone else."
LMAO AT THE IDEA OF SERPH FLIRTING.
That said, here's my two cents on the whole LJ thing. I can live with the changes. Change happens all the time and you can either throw up your arms and complain about it or you can adapt. As much as I can see why these changes are terrible in the eyes of LJRP, you do have to admit that the LJRP side of things is a (vocal) minority.
Aside from the bad customer service, my real beef with LJ is how unstable it's been lately. Some of it is due to DDoS attacks, which are not their fault at all. The rest is due to LJ rolling out heavily bugged site updates. I expect there to be some bugs whenever there's an update, because that's just the nature of software. But when things like privacy and user money are compromised, that's just bad practice. (P.S. if you have a paid account, you'll want to check whether automatic payments have been turned on. Apparently the last update has randomly switched auto payments on.) The fact that users expect LJ to break whenever there's an update is really telling.
The long and short of it is: I'm semi-moving to Dreamwidth. I say semi because I'll still be checking my LJ flist and crossposting stuff from DW to LJ. I'll see what I decide to do about
inktrain later when I'm not doing other stuff. Honestly the main reason for the move is because whenever I want to type long tl;dr posts, LJ keeps being down.
If you want to add me on Dreamwidth, feel free to do so.

Maybe we could wait until DW can import comms to bring inktrain over, or something like that.

I'm just really bothered by LJ's site outages, especially since LJ is my main blogging site, so it's a shame it's had to come to this. I admit I was going to give LJ another chance but with the mention of my game potentially moving and DW not needing invite codes for this week, I really don't have much reason not to give DW a whirl as a 'just in case' my game does move.

But it is a shame that LJ's latest stunt has made people like this through. It was pretty much a matter of time, but still. Kind of a damned shame.

Fandom and general blogging will probably be fine, but when most of RP demands multiple comments a day and for the site to actually be up for people to pass activity checks, it's really an issue. In the last 6 months alone, my game's had to waive the monthly AC about 3 times because of LJ not working properly for a good portion of the game. The enjoyment vs hassle of having RP on LJ is just tipping more and more to the hassle side so I guess that's why people are actually legit leaving for DW.

But yeah - tbh, I think this is pretty much coming, especially with what's happened. Anyway, if you're moving to DW I'll be okay with it too - just more crossposting work for me, I guess. XD tbh, I really don't mind too much. Feel free to go ahead with what you want, I'll be supporting you either way. ♥ We're the only people posting to the comm anyway ahahaha.

I'm ignite over at Dreamwidth, I'll hop over too since I quite like the site and IT'S NOT LIKE I DON'T USE ENOUGH SOCIAL MEDIA SITES ATM
My LJ upgrade expired anyway...

I don't know what the other changes/issues are, but I do know that some people with paid accounts suddenly discovered that automatic payments were turned on for them, so you might want to double check with yours.
