Malaysia photos!
So yeah, finally I'm writing up a little bit about the Malaysia part of my holiday this year. Singapore, which makes up a significant portion of my photos and things I actually did, will come later. We were actually in Malaysia for serious family reasons (despite it being Chinese New Year), but because I don't understand all the languages being tossed around, I obviously can't quite grasp the gravity of the situation. And aside from the sheer amount of time just not doing anything because it was so hot and humid and the fan does nothing, I actually ended up "tutoring" my younger cousin and someone else in her class. Unfortunately, because my maths isn't that good, it was hard to teach them that stuff, but chemistry... chemistry was really easily to explain to my younger cousin. I was actually surprised I remembered as much as I did, which makes me wonder why I'm not doing a course that's chemistry related.
But yes, photos. I didn't actually take all that many photos because it's like, the 4th time I've been to Malaysia. In the time since my last visit to Malaysia, my aunt had gotten a new dog. From what I hear, it was one of my younger cousins who convinced her to get this dog out of the other dogs at the Malaysian equivalent of a pound; paraphrased "You have to get this dog; it's less likely someone else will pick this ugly dog!"

I dunno... but I think she's kind of adorable. Just look at her!

She's only 9 months old, and her name is remarkably similar to my name, so I can never tell if my aunt is calling for me, or the dog. She's also incredibly affectionate and an attention seeker, and since I didn't reprimand her, she bit up my whole right arm, once. You can not be anywhere near her without getting licked. In the case of me, who would sit near her barefoot, she'd lick my feet so much that if she'd been human, she'd be the perfect partner to someone with a foot fetish. Unfortunately, she also has the habit of eating everything (my aunt has to smack her whenever she does), including the usual shoes, a bee, and apparently trash. She's pretty big despite only being 9 months old, as you can probably tell, and when she stands on her hind legs, she's only about a head shorter than I am.
What these photos don't tell you is how she moves and lounges around. It's not like any other dog I've seen before, probably because she's kind of gangly, and she just oozes personality. It's really quite interesting just to watch her. What's really funny is that my aunt's vet doesn't remember my aunt's name, but he remembers her dog's name.
Next are the two stray kittens that hung around the back door.

It's believed these two are twins, but I don't know for sure. It's estimated that they were about 4 months old when these photos were taken. As one of my aunts said, one of them is the 'smart one' and the other is the 'dumb one'.

The cardboard was put there to stop them from coming into the house, but it got to the point where even that wasn't enough to stop that one from entering the house. So I was there, pushing against the cardboard so they don't squeeze through the tiny gap from the slit in the cardboard. Unfortunately, the 'smart one' is now in kitty heaven; it was mauled to death by a dog.
One of my aunts took the other kitten in (temporarily) until they could find someone (or the Malaysian equivalent of a pound) to take in the kitten. Unfortunately, that same aunt was also uh. flying to Hong Kong the very next day, which was also the day I was going to Singapore. When I returned from Singapore, my other aunt still had the kitten, which was holed up in one of the rooms upstairs to prevent it from escaping into the reach of the dog, which as I mentioned before, ate anything. My aunt didn't want to risk this kitten also being attacked by the dog. But because the kitten had been a stray and was used to wandering, it tried to escape through the window (they have slats, a little like venetian blinds, except with much larger slats), which wasn't completely shut due to how hot it was.
When the dog was taken away for training, the kitten was finally allowed out of the room to roam the whole first floor. The first thing it did? Make for the balcony orz. As some people in chat know, that kitten kept me very busy, trying to keep the thing out of trouble. But I suppose I got my break when, on the last day I was in Malaysia, a whole pile of people (and their kids) came upstairs to see the kitten. Oh, the kitten enjoyed the attention... at first. Then it just got terrified of the kids and tried to hide. Poor thing. I don't know whether my aunt still has the kitten, though.
Since I don't have a scanner, I had to take photos of the sketches I did during the holidays. I've done a couple more sketches since then (today I did a few pages on expressions; it's a big weakness in my art and something I want to work on), but haven't taken photos. There's a little bit of my trying out some new stuff. What you don't see is that on the other side of those sketches, there are various story ideas that I was working on and haven't finished yet.
