On the plus side, my back is mostly better, though I'm not about to start carrying my laptop to uni just yet. On the neg side, I'm still kind of sick, so I'm gonna take it easy over the weekend.
While I've been not well, I've been pottering away at my OU stuff, because I never seem to work on anything OU related unless I'm sick. I've been really lazy about world building, but I do want to write something OU. I figure I'll probably write one of the stories set in OU that don't involve that much world building, though I don't have a title for it. Well, aside from 'This Is Not A Happy Story'. 4 of the characters sketched up there are related to it. Still, nothing is final and there are still other supporting characters that need to be fleshed out some more. I'm kind of excited to be working on TINAHS, but it's definitely a story I don't want to dive in headlong and fuck up royally.
Some old characters are being revisited and being changed. Sometimes it's hard to change old characters once I've become too attached to them, since I tend to end up tunnel visioning on them, and find it hard to imagine them in any other way. Trian and Tyler in ROverse have always been something kind of awkward to work with because of all the baggage that was carried from their previous incarnations. But nevertheless, changes have to be made. Stuff that's changing story wise:
- they don't have an extended life span
- they aren't family, thus don't know each other as children
- changes in magic system. Trian gets the more naturalistic type (it better suits his personality and 'born with talent' background) and Tyler gets the type you have to learn.
- Trian doesn't get omnomed by the Stream because the Stream doesn't exist anymore ):
- A relationship between them will be definite, but non-sexual.
I don't know if Tyler should still be blind, or if his background should be changed; I kind of feel that the way it is right now, there may be too many issues to deal with that won't make a coherent story. Chances are that I'll change his background; I don't think I need another story that's Not Happy in the same way TINAHS. Also, I also need a new conflict in Trian's story because the Stream induced insanity and paranoia will work in the OU now.
I have still yet to make a story involving Daisy.
I'm really too tired to say much more about this though so I'll leave this blah blah blah here.
I've also got a Nuzlocke update that's been sitting on my computer for ages now, but I haven't gotten around to posting it up. Not much happened in it though.
