TALES OF VESPERIAAA
hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Tales of Vesperia is so good hhghghhhh. Just spent half of today playing it 4 players.
So many improvements over Tales of the Abyss (to be expected, of course, since it's newer):
+ Skits are more concise and don't flood you all at once, which is really nice.
+ Several tiny details that really make the game shine, like the movement on the sword/handaxe Yuri carries while he runs around on screen. Changes in the cutscenes depending on the weapon you're using. Petals being kicked up when you run through the streets of. that one town.
+ Fewer long loading screens (to be expected, since it's on the Xbox 360)
+ Better graphics (also expected, but they really did a Very Nice Job on it)
+ Recipes actually tell you what they do !
+ Some other stuff I can't remember
+ Sprites are ridiculously expressive in both in game and in skits fnhsdfghasdf I love Yuri's 'bitch, please' face.
- The motion of the skit boxes are a little dodgy, though. They don't move very smoothly, when it's pretty obvious it was supposed to be * A*
Character wise. I am superly enjoying it! We're not all that far into the plot yet (lol distracted by loot and lol our Player 1 has Very Bad pathfinding skills ♥ ) but I'm really loving it. Rita is everything I expected based on the Rita I interacted with ♥ ♥ ♥ Voice acting isn't bad either, with Yuri being the manliest trap in existence fnshdfhghsdfg. Karol is ridiculously cute as well, though lol Rita stop bullying him :<<< I'm pretty neutral on Estelle though. REPEDE. The most badass dog ever and if I actually owned ToV I would totally RP him, EVEN IF IT'D BE LIKE PULLING TEETH because I would refuse to give Repede any means of communication aside from body language, barks/growls/etc and Yuri (he totally counts as a method of communication).
Seriously, I love Repede ;; A dog. with a long pipe. Ping number one. A dog with a chain for a leash. Badassery level up. Dog with an awesome personality? WINNER. Also, despite a logical WHYYY RE: using a dagger, I have to admit, the scabbard design for Repede's weapon is pretty badass. (guess who uses Repede in battle? YEAH) He's short, which means half the enemy's attacks just go flying over him. But. Just. FUCK FLYING ENEMIES OMG SERIOUSLY.
Also sometimes it looks like Repede is biting Yuri's ass in battle. I wish he did, because sometimes Yuri's ass is in the way.
Edit: ffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffuck why am I so stupid. I don't need to get into Livingstone as well. I shamelessly admit it was because one of the main characters looks almost exactly like Toto.
