Old stories

I was re-categorising a lot of my files on hard drive so it would be easier to find stuff (since I'm still feeling tired and not really wanting to work on uni work) and I found some old Persona 3 stories (I'm talking 2009) that I never finished. I doubt I'll be finishing them at this point so here, more incomplete drabbles for you! These are really short, though.

Yukari was irritated when she couldn't find her favourite cellphone strap the day after graduation.

[search high and low for it]

[accuse Junpei of taking it?]

There was a voice in the back of her head that murmured, almost sleepily, "...You gave it away."

But that was ridiculous. She wouldn't give something like that away. She was someone who'd get gifts from various guys wanting to be her boyfriend. Guys were supposed to be the ones giving girls stuff! And besides, she'd only give away something she didn't want anymore, like her old, tacky clothes from middle school (Jeez, she'd been so lame then). Maybe.

... Now that she thought about it, she did remember a few lines she'd said. "[what she said when she gives it to Minato]"... Who was it again?

She tried to remember the face of the person, but she came up with nothing. Not even their hair colour or gender or name.

[blah blah think about it later]

Akihiko only hears himself in the boxing ring.

The crowd cheers, noisy, insistent. Cameras aren't allowed, yet flashes spot the audience's darkened faces. Harsh, heat-radiating light engulfs the boxing ring. Their source, spotlights above. The white light is more obscuring than illuminating. The ring is small, stifling, enclosed. The ropes around the perimeter prevent escape.

It's hardly an ideal environment for fighting in. But despite the restrictive rules, Akihiko can't help but think there is something strangely brutal about it and he didn't want it any other way.

Yet... Akihiko isn't smiling, even as the referee holds up his arm in his 18th consecutive win.

In the dark hour of the night, where water turns to blood, it's a different environment from the boxing ring but still the same in many ways.

There's still the skid of his shoes as he turns, scrapes against concrete (floorboards, tiles), twist of his body and the feeling of something solid (amorphous) collapse under his fist. But there's something more the Dark Hour offers that the boxing ring can't, and there's just something extrangely exhilarating about pressing the barrel of his evoker (gun) and feeling the cold metal against skin and pretending he can feel a bullet go through his head when he pulls the trigger. Here in the Dark Hour, the fight's not practice like the boxing ring is. Here, the possibility of dying is so very real, and he pushes himself, willing to kill himself over and over so he can live and keep others from dying.

[blah blah fighting shadows? it's a different environment, but still the same]

[idk something to do with SEES. or Mitsu]

[it's the moments of peace between the fights he never notices, but make him feel most content?]

Akihiko smiled.

EDIT: Actually since I'm here, I might as well share the TWEWY: Off the Wall project between [livejournal.com profile] meta and I that was never finished. For those who aren't familiar, about three years ago, when the TWEWY fandom was relatively fresh and new, there was a TWEWY contest held in [livejournal.com profile] subarashiki_ds where the prize was one of those custom TWEWY DSes/case iirc. But the most interesting thing about the contest was it's theme. Basically, to create some kind of fanwork that was off the wall different from the usual types of fanworks (art, fic, osts, icons).

The idea [livejournal.com profile] meta and I had was to create a website that would essentially simulate a box with items that would contain a collection of memories Neku made since that Game. I can't remember all the details now, but the box was to contain a couple of items from each of the other Players (including Joshua) plus other misc items (like concert ticket stubs) as well as a scrapbook, a video camera with memory cards for both video footage and photos. The post Game scenario worked under the assumption that Shibuya was reset, so everyone who was killed can goof around.

Because there was no way in hell either of us two were going to animate the scenes in the video camera, the video scenes were going to be written up in a restricted style such that all the information you were given would be only what was captured on video. That's most of what the work that was left on LJ was. (of course, I didn't have as good a handle on the TWEWY characters as I do now... but I'm still quite okay with what I'd written then)

However, the biggest draw was supposed to be the scrapbook, which would at first be sort of like Neku's diary containing his thoughts regarding the Game and his present life, along with some of his own scribbles. However, once the other characters catch wind of it, they basically snatch the scrapbook off Neku and start making their own input in his scrapbook. YOU CAN IMAGINE WHAT KIND OF STUFF HAPPENS.

I don't recall everything we brainstormed, but ideas included:
- Shiki writing that she thought Neku was a real jerk when she met him.
- Minamimoto writing a huge mathmatical induction to prove Neku sucks.
- Someone spilling food on the scrapbook.
- Ripped out pages.
- I am pretty sure Joshua wrote some bad fiction in there (the predecessor to all the IC bad porn I've written??)
- A ridiculously detailed CAT drawing in the scrapbook that Neku attempts to imitate later on... badly.
- Photos of Neku and Shiki on a 'date' stuck in the scrapbook with mockery from everyone not Neku and Shiki. CUE OUTRAGE ALL OVER THE PAGE. The reason Neku didn't rip out those pages? The CAT drawing was on the other side of that page.

We had the idea that the rest of the scrapbook's pages could be user submitted, but in the end we didn't get very far. You can see what we did get done here:

The lead in - This was supposed to be what was going to be linked in [livejournal.com profile] subarashiki_ds that would be followed by a banner linking to the website.
The cover of the scrapbook.
WIP of the picture Mr. H supposedly drew.
Video of Neku in a maido outfit.
Video of a Def Märch concert with a bonus cameo!
Video of Neku and Shiki's first date (camera 1)
Video of Neku and Shiki's first date (camera 2)

There was also some further videos that I didn't finish and I have them on file.

[bitch bitch whine whine I DON'T LIKE BEING WOKEN UP OKAY >||| BASICALLY JOSHUA WILL BE GRUMPY THROUGH THIS WHOLE THING]

"Oh stop it, Joshua, please. You won't hear anything if you keep talking."

[growl of irritation, camera waves from side to side] "It doesn't matter anyway since I can't see anything. I want to see Neku play. There must be something he does that makes him win all the time."

"Hmm...okay, okay, let me try. I'm a bit taller, so maybe I can get a better view?"

[la la camera swaps hands]

[Joshua >||| ] "I still can't see anything."

[Shiki STANDS UP. The camera can see the table clearly. Joshua is PLEASED BY THIS]

[someone behind] "Oi, sit down!"

[turns around to >| >| >| tell them off]

[interrupted by CHEER AND THE WINNER IS]
