Since I was on the subject of updating with incomplete things

No, Chrome LJLogin, I'm not Joshua. Stop telling me I'm logged into this account when for some reason I'm still logged into Joshua's.

A couple of TWEWY stories that aren't complete and I have no desire to make them so. Edit: Actually, I lied, the 2nd one isn't incomplete, but it's a silly fic anyway xD

"Hey! Hey, did you hear?"

"Hear what?"

"That music store... what's it called again...? The one past Center Street?"

"AMX?"

"Yeah, that's the one! Anyway, apparently it's closing soon."

"What? No way! I get all my music from there!"

Neku had initially shrugged off those words as baseless rumours. AMX was doing great, there was no way they'd close the store!

[SOMETHING]

"Rrrgh! You guys just don't get it!" And with that, Neku stormed off.

[hey phones!]
[it's not phones! it's neku]
[sure, i got it, phones]

[MORE SOMETHINGS]

"Here, Phones, let me show you something." And with those words, Mr. H lead the way to the WildKat's backroom.

Hesitating for just a moment (was it really okay...?), Neku followed after the barista, leaving his coffee on the table. He didn't know what to expect. Maybe incomplete designs for CAT's next mural, or splashes of crazy colour all over the walls like in the café. However, when Neku walked through the door and entered the WildKat's inner sanctum, he didn't expect to see the walls covered in photographs. There were so many, row and rows of them until he couldn't make out what was wall and what was image. Stepping forward in wonder to take a closer look at them all, Neku realised that all the pictures were taken at different years. Aside from the year written in the bottom right of each photograph in bold black, there were different sorts of photographs; black and white, polaroids, digital prints on glossy paper. A clear mark of the advent of technology. He couldn't recognise the buildings in the older photographs, though when viewed alongside their more recent counterparts, they seemed very familiar...

"Are these... photos of Shibuya?"

"Oh yeah!" Mr. H replied with enthusiasm, "This set is a personal favourite of mine," and he pointed out a series of photographs taken of the people who hung around the statue of Hachiko, even before the statue was built.

Neku could see how the fashions of the people there had come and gone... and come again. While Neku appreciated that Mr. H was sharing something so cool with him, he didn't understand why. "Mr. H... Is there a reason you're showing me these?"

Mr. H gave him that madly knowing smile (though it wasn't as irritating as an other certain someone's) before replying with, "Shibuya's constantly changing. It's always evolving, parts of it appearing and disappearing as time goes on." Mr. H gave a loud laugh, clapping Neku on the shoulder. "That's why you gotta enjoy the moment!"

Neku snorted (didn't Mr. H get tired of saying the same thing?), but kept his grumbling to himself this time; what Mr. H said was true... but he still didn't like the fact AMX was closing down. Ugh. He didn't want to think about that anymore. It was getting him down just thinking about it. Turning, he said, "I'm gonna head out."

The corner of Mr. H's mouth turned up into a grin. "Not finishing your coffee?"

"...I don't feel like it anymore." It would've gone cold by now, anyway.

Of course, he found out shortly after he'd left the WildKat that there was going to be a giant live event with all his favourite bands and DJs, like a farewell party. So it wasn't like AMX was going to just quietly disappear like some of the other shops he'd liked had in Shibuya. It made him feel a little better re-reading the announcement of the AMX Shibuya Otsukaresama Fest. Two years ago, he would've thought the AMX Shibuya Otsukaresama Fest was a dumb idea, would have boycotted the event and quietly raged for weeks after the store's closure. But now...

Neku smiled at the photograph he'd taken of all his friends (he had friends now!) before flipping shut his phone to step into the crowd. Now, he thought it was good way to hang out with friends and pay tribute to the artists and the store he loved so much. As Mr. H liked to say so much, he was going to enjoy the moment.

"AMX, old buddy, I'm going to miss you."

Hours later, at the WildKat's backroom, another photograph with '2010' in the bottom right was added to the wall.

"I've got a photo of Neku bawling his eyes out after the show. I'm sure it'd make a nice addition to your little wall ♪~"

"That's not going on the wall, J. But send me a copy, will ya?"

[an alternate reality where Neku pulled the trigger]

Somewhere, in the space between two and one, Neku slowly lowered the gun.

It wasn't his gun, because it didn't belong to him. He didn't own a gun, he didn't carry a gun, he didn't pick it up with the intention to kill. Not like Joshua. The bastard. The thought of Joshua was enough to make him look up at the kid in question. And a white hot flare of rage arose when he saw that smug smile on Joshua's face and the barrel of that gun still pointed at him. Before he knew what he was doing, with an angry yell, Neku rasied the gun again and pulled the trigger before Joshua finished the countdown.

Joshua's smile never wavered as the bullet slowed and fell harmlessly to the floor. "Smile," he mouthed, before he shot Neku.

Neku barely felt the pain, but apparently his body did; he immediately crumpled to the floor. Struggling to keep his eyes open, he could only barely keep his eyes focused on Joshua as the kid twirled his gun once before approaching Neku. "Now that's a pity. It seems I was mistaken; you haven't changed." Joshua's voice turned oddly serious once he drew close to Neku, so close that Joshua's shoes were the only thing Neku could see. "Here, let me tell you a secret. I was going to leave Shibuya intact buuut with that little fiasco just now..." Joshua knelt down to whisper in Neku's ears, pronouncing each word deliberately slowly.

"You killed Shibuya."

"Noooooo!!"

"... and then Alternate Universe me erased Shibuya. True story."

Neku folded his arms, frowning. "Okay, you had me until the end." Under his breath, he grumbled, "I should have known you wouldn't tell me the truth." To Joshua, he continued, "Do you seriously think I'd scream 'Noooooo!!'? Come on, I could barely keep my eyes open when you shot me last year! I don't think Alternate me would be able to muster the energy to yell melodramatically like that."

Joshua just shrugged, shooting Neku a wide grin. "What can I say? You just don't have Alternate Universe Neku's fiery shounen heart."

The [SOMETHING] parts you should totally change to [IMAGINATION]. ;)

But the closure of HMV in Shibuya made me sad. :( This was a nice fic, even if incomplete, for memorial. Also, Hanekoma, taking Neku into the bathroom had my badtouch alarms going off for a second there! XD The mural was cool, though.

The second ficlet cracked me up. XD Genius. Have to love TWEWY - the fandom where alternate dimensions is canon.
